Dayan Pagoda
Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Chinese: 大雁塔; pinyin: Dàyàn Tǎ), is a Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China. It was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty and originally had five stories, although the structure was rebuilt in 704 during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian and its exterior brick facade was renovated during the Ming Dynasty. One of the pagoda's many functions was to hold sutras and figurines of the Buddha that were brought to China from India by the Buddhist translator and traveler Xuanzang.

Hengchun Ancient City South Gate, Kenting
Perhaps due to the slow pace of development here, the small city of Hengchun has some of the best preserved city walls in the country. If you are taking the circular route around Kenting, or heading to the aquarium, then you will probably pass through the area.

All four gates are still standing. They were built as a response to the Mudan incident of 1874 when Japanese troops attacked the island in response to the murder of Japanese sailors by Paiwan aborigines.

Southern Gate:
In the old district, alongside the relics of Monkey Cave Mountain, the South Gate stands in the middle of Hen-Nan Road. It looks like a solitary gateway in the midst of a modern traffic roundabout. Monkey Cave Mountain, though merely a coral reef hill, is thought to be the origin of imperial power. In front of the Gate tower is a shelter, giving the appearance a covered sidewalk, for protection from the sun and rain. This is an unusual design.

Macau - Along the inner harbor coast.

Macau is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China, the other being Hong Kong. Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta across from Hong-Kong which is to the east, bordering Guangdong province to the north and facing the South China Sea to the east and south. The territory's economy is heavily dependent on gambling and tourism, but also includes manufacturing.

Macau is a former Portuguese colony, and was both the first and last European colony in China. Portuguese traders first settled in Macau in the 16th century. In 1557 Macau was rented to Portugal by the Chinese empire as a trading port. The Portuguese administered the city under Chinese authority and sovereignty until 1887, when Macau became a colony of the Portuguese empire. Sovereignty over Macau was transferred back to China on 20 December 1999.
