(Town Hall, Basicila Encina, Templar Castle)
(1) Town Hall: with style Baroque. It was finished between 1692-1705. The building has a central structure with 2 towers that are crowed with an Austrian style tall steeple. The pillars transmit the architectural lines of the lower bodies to both towers where the arms of the city are shown, they also have two balconies on corbels closed with a rail.
(2) Basicila Encina: a renaissance temple with a c atin cross plan that dates back to the year 1573. The image of the Virgin.. of La Enciva -La Morenica- the saint patron of - El "Bierzo", presides over the retable.
(3) Templar Castle: is the result of several building works when the monarchs of lean donated Ponferrada to the order of Temple, in the year 1778, the Templar knights found a small fortress that had originally been a castro and then on a Roman citadel. They extended and improved it in order to defend the Road to Santiago. It would be finished by the year of 1282...
