Holden Mine - Lake Chelas

This skeleton is all that remains of the mill operated by the Howe Sound Mining Company. The Holden Mine became Washington's state's largest copper, gold and zinc mine.

After its close in 1957, it was given to the Lutherans and is now the setting for Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center.
