The Elizabeth Orphanage

Reputed to be haunted, The Janel Memorial Home for children was located between Salem and Westminster Ave. in Elizabeth. This huge abandoned building had four floors, a basement with a gym and a flat roof that overlooked the city. People had experienced paranormal activity, including seeing glowing green balls and hearing otherworldly voices. It was demolished in the late 1980s.
