Memorial Hall
Memorial Hall is a High Victorian Gothic building that serves as a cultural center of Harvard University. Completed in 1877, it contains Sanders Theatre, renowned for great accoustics and, with 1166 seats, Harvard's largest interior meeting place; Annenberg Hall, originally known as Great Hall, shaped by massive wooden trusses, a blue, stenciled ceiling and stained glass windows by Tiffany -- it is used today as dining hall; and Memorial Transept, a dramatic gothic vault dedicated to the 136 Harvard boys who died fighting for the Union during the Civil War.
