Festivals of Hunza

There are many festivals and events in Hunza related to faith, daily life and agriculture. The "Ginani" festival is celebrated in late June when the crop is ready to harvest. The "Bofow" sowing is celebrated in February by sowing in one of the fields. As KKH has given a new life to the ancient Silk Route and in the year of 2001 the government of Northern Areas in collaboration with the NGOs organized three days Silk Route Festival.
