Galway City

Galway is situated  near the head of a large bay, and is the principal city of Connacht. The streets and buildings of this ancient town have many interesting features and its position on the fringe of the Western Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) make it the obvious gateway to Connemara, and entrancing countryside where the ancient language and customs of Ireland are preserved.
