Founding Fathers
Thomas McKean (1734-1817), an active Delaware and Pennsylvania statesman signed the Declaration of Independence and was an arden supporter of the Constitution. Having reservations about Alexander Hamilton's funding bill, he shifted his support to the Jeffrsoniins, and in 1800 threatened to mobilize the Pennsylvania milltia to secure Thomas Jefferson the presidency.
